Nov 30 - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Our event was held during the annual CHOP / 98.1 WOGL ‘Love our Kids’ Radiothon. The children love when we arrive to do nails, crafts and hand out goodie bags. We welcomed a little over 46 children, 24 girls and 22 boys and their siblings.
Along with the makeovers, the patients and their families were able to enjoy face painting, a magic show, glitter tattoos, caricature drawings, crafts and visits with Miss New Jersey and Miss Delaware. We also made goodie bags for parents to take back to the patient rooms that were not able to attend because of treatments or were too sick to come down.
My volunteers were fabulous as always. 98.1 WOGL interviewed me on the radio about why I come out to volunteer each year representing For a Day Foundation, my experience with the annual Radiothon and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We had a blast with all the children and they were all very appreciative and gave the best hugs.
We always leave with so much joy in our hearts and look forward to the next event because of all the giggles and smiles shared during the few hours we get to spend with all the children and their families.
