September 13 - Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic

Our morning at Texas Children's Clinic was filled with so much laughter that all our cheeks hurt from all the smiling and laughing. We interacted with 22 girls and 12 boys. They were so excited to see us!

We played some carnival games, dressed up the little girls with their tiaras, boas, nails and makeup, turned the little boys into superheroes and firefighters...and we had time to make headbands and peg tags! We were also able to pass out many toys to all the children which they were so thankful for.

After the event, the Clinic patient coordinator informed me that one of the little boys that played with us from the time we arrived to the time we left had been going to the clinic for a while now. He has never interacted with anyone! After the flooding that Houston has faced from Harvey, this event was very special to me and my volunteers and I do believe the kids really appreciated the distraction. Today has been an absolute pleasure and I truly appreciate being a part of this organization.
