December 10th - Ronald McDonald House - Minneapolis

Our annual Christmas event at the RM House of Minneapolis wasn’t as well attended as past years, but still as exciting and fun as any. There were many stations, including popsicle stick reindeer crafts, Christmas bulb painting, coloring, snowman dress up (with the fan favorite – toilet paper!), photo booth (with an inflatable minion, holiday cut outs, Santa and elf hats, antler headbands, etc.), Miss MN table with tiaras, boas, nail polish, blush, eye shadow, tattoos, etc, and a book station – over 180 books donated from Profinium, Inc. from Owatonna! A new twist this year was a father/daughter music performance. Jason (dad) played guitar while his daughter Kaisha sang. One little girl was serenaded the entire time, and wouldn’t even let Jason use the restroom, yelling “no” when he attempted to stop for a restroom break.

I (Jason, the local chapter director), was unable to personally attend this event due to an illness and not wanting to compromise the children, but I’m confident it was as powerful as ever, based on the feedback and pictures received.

The Minnesota chapter will continue to grow in size and ability to serve throughout 2018!

We saw 5 boys and 4 girls, with 7 volunteers, including Miss Minnesota USA 2018, Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2018 and Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2017.
