August 30 - Monroe Carrell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt

This is the party summary for our party August 30, 2018.

Fabulous party today, we had a guest appearance of Captain America!!!!  He was a huge hit. Capt. America was making his way across the US, and it was great that he was in town during our event.  Boys and girls were very entertained by him and our other special guests for the day.

We had 8 boys in attendance.  Our Firefighters from Engine 16 was able to join us, but for only a short time, as duty calls.

The Tutu Ladies had a great selection of tutus, cape and mask and as always puts smiles on girls and boys faces.   One boy was so excited that he was able to have a Captain America cape and mask. Just so happened to be his favorite hero.

18 little girls were greeted by special guests Princess Moana & Elena of Avalor compliments of The Wishes Foundation.  Several girls had some very interesting questions for these ladies.  Also, in attendance was Miss Putnam Co. Fairest of the Fair, Autumn Allison.  Autumn is also our new For a Day Ambassador. She has been collecting items for our events with the help of her mother, Christy Allison.  So grateful for these two and looking forward to working with them in the future.

Girls were treated with nail polish, lipstick, party favors and a crown that is donated from girls that compete in pageants local and national levels.

Once all nails and lips are painted, crowns selected and tutus on, the girls have a picture taken with the Princesses.

We also were able to send 8 goodie bags with party favors, lip stick, nail polish and a crown for those ones that were unable to attend the event.   One little boy received a private message from Captain America with his room gift bag.

Again, Lindsay Bateman put huge smiles on faces with mylar balloons with princess characters, to decorate our staging event and then they were given away at the end of the event.   Delaney Henry was able to join us, and we had a new volunteer, Sheila Holt. As this was her first visit, she is a long-time family friend.

It is so precious to watch these children meet their heroes, make believe (which they don’t realize that just yet) and some real live heroes that impact our lives daily.  These events would not be the same without these people helping to make sweet children believe in fairytales.

So a HUGE thank you to all the volunteers that devote their precious time to put huge smiles on these precious children faces if only for an hour, the memories made in that hour will last a lifetime.

Can’t wait for our next party on October 25th.
