Her mother dreamed of taking her 5-year-old daughter, Annabelle, to Paris. The City of Lights, of fresh baked bread wafting through the morning streets, cafes and flowers, art and history in every scene. Annabelle’s condition stopped that dream short and she’s left with only her imagination. To bring a little more of Paris to her home, FADF arranged ‘Paris for a Day’ for Annabelle and her family.
Sending a 6-foot cutout of the Eiffel Tower, paper peonies, a watercolor art set, 3D butterfly wall art, and fairy lights, we aimed to make her feel like Paris was her world. To make the experience multi-sensory, we sent a playlist of French kids’ songs and fresh croissants from a local French bakery.
Her parents set it up like Christmas morning: while she was sleeping, they arranged the decorations around the home. When she woke up, it was to the sound of music and the aroma of croissants.
Annabelle loves Paris because of her favorite cartoon, “Miraculous: Tales of Lady Bug and Cat Noir.” We connected with Spirit Halloween to send her a gift box full of Miraculous-themed costumes and accessories. She wears her pieces to each appointment and even to her birthday party.
We were honored to be a part of supporting this family and are humbled by the support of our donors to allow us the resources to swiftly meet these requests.
