On Saturday, October 30th, we supported the family of a 23-month-old boy and his siblings with a pizza party. For most of us, that's an average dinner. But for many childhood cancer families, a pizza party can be a rare treat: everyone together, simple pleasures, enjoying that precious bond amongst kids, and a chance for the parents to relax and enjoy their family.
FADF is proud to have arranged this simple pleasure for this family. We provided pizza, dessert, and glow-in-the-dark supplies such as a glow light with plates, cups, utensils, a little decor, rock painting supplies, two Mickey movies (the recipients favorite character), and a huge plush Mickey to cuddle. Mom was extremely grateful.
We're especially grateful to our donors and sponsors for donating so generously because it allows us to respond quickly. This is so so important because in this case, this family lost their precious son just one day after this pizza party. It's deeply humbling to know we helped create some of the last memories for this family.
